Research internship on parasitic isopods

Degree in biology (Option: Ecology), with a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology, PhD candidate with Prof. Dr. Roland MELZER and Dr. Ulrich SCHLIEWEN about : "Taxonomy, phylogenetics and comparative ecomorphology of two ancient African cichlid lineges: chromidotilapiines and Pseudocrenilabrus sensu lato".

I have many years of experience as research assistant in microbiology laboratories and applied nutrition, and in NGO involved in conservation. I also did a training of one year (2012–2013) to Zschortau (Germany) under the ILT project "Strengthening of young professional staff capacity in the area of deforestation in the Congo Basin".

I am looking for experience and development of foreign powers in order to make an improvement in the ecological research in the DRCongo, which has the second largest forest in the world after that of the Amazon. Today, this forest undergoes severe pressures mainly due to the growth of the population, the agriculture development, and the extraction of mineral resources well as the cutting of wood. Nevertheless, this forest requires a sustainable and rational management of these resources not only for the survival and well-being of the local population, but also to fight against climate change. Unfortunately, uncontrolled deforestation and the lack of research in this area may lead to a loss of a significant part of this national wealth.
