Ana Zippel
Ana Zippel successfully defended her PhD thesis in October 2023.
My main research interest is to gain new knowledge of ontogenetic patterns by studying the fossil and extant record of the group Euarthropoda. The emphasis of my PhD thesis is on the group Insecta. Research conducted during my PhD project should enable us to make further conclusions on changes of biodiversity of Insecta through time. The project will also make it possible to pass on the gained knowledge to the broader public, raise awareness about the broad range of insect morphology and their ecology, whether extant or fossil, as well as address the problem of declining biodiversity of Insecta.
